Jim Palmer joined teammates Mike Cuellar, Dave McNally and Pat Dobson in the 17-victory class when the Orioles defeated the Senators, 6-2. Palmer turned in his 17th complete game of the season, scattering nine hits including a homer by Del Unser. Boog Powell and Davey Johnson drove in two runs apiece for the Orioles.
