After giving up four hits in the first two innings, Bill Parsons was untouchable the rest of the way and pitched the Brewers to a 4-1 victory over the Angels. The Brewers snapped a 1-1 tie on the wildness of Rudy May and an error by the Angels' pitcher in the fourth inning.

Ellie Rodriguez and Dave May drew walks. Rick Auerbach drove in a run with a single. Parsons beat out a bunt and when May threw the ball over the head of first baseman Jim Spencer, both May and Auerbach scored. [The Sporting News]
