The Mets extended their winning streak to five games by beating the Phillies in both ends of a twi-night doubleheader, 6-5 and 3-0. The first game was decided in the 10th inning when Don Hahn singled, Tug McGraw sacrificed and Bud Harrelson singled.

Jim McAndrew, with help from Danny Frisella, received credit for his first victory of the season in the nightcap. With the double dip, the Phillies' losing streak reached eight games. Barry Lersch was tagged with his 11th straight setback in the nightcap. [The Sporting News]
