. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Homers by Gates Brown, Aurelio Rodriguez and Bill Freehan carried the Tigers to a 5-3 victory over the Senators. Brown opened the scoring with a smash in the first inning.

After Rodriguez connected in the third, Brown walked, stole second and scored on a single by Jim Northrup. Freehan then provided what proved to be the winning blow, hitting a two-run homer in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
