In Luis Aparicio's biggest productive game of the season, the veteran shortstop drove in five runs to lead the Red Sox to a 12-6 victory over the Tigers. Aparicio homered in the first inning, knocked in two runs with a single in the second and rapped a pair of singles in the eighth when the Red Sox exploded for seven runs. Aparicio started that outburst with a single and then, on his second trip to plate in the stanza, singled to drive in two runs. [The Sporting News]
