Making his debut with the Angels, Billy Parker went hitless in his first four times at bat, but the rookie second baseman came up again with two out in the 11th inning and smashed his first major league homer to beat the Brewers, 3-2. Before Parker won the game, Mickey Rivers prevented a defeat, hitting a triple after two walks in the ninth to tie the score.

The Brewers got their first run on a homer by Johnny Briggs in the seventh and added the other tally on an infield hit by Bob Heise, a throwing error by Sandy Alomar and double by Ron Theobald in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
