. . . where the 1970s live forever!

While Gary Peters pitched a three-hitter, the Red Sox unleashed an extra-base barrage against Mickey Lolich and defeated the Tigers, 6-1. The Red Sox collected nine hits good for 24 total bases off Lolich before kayoing the 23-game winner in the sixth inning.

The attack included homers by Rico Petrocelli, Billy Conigliaro and Duane Josephson, triples by Reggie Smith and George Scott and doubles by Luis Aparicio and Petrocelli. Ike Brown homered for the Tigers' tally. [The Sporting News]
