After a wild pitch, Theobald scored on a sacrifice fly by Jose Cardenal. Briggs followed with his decisive homer. The Angels rallied against Marty Pattin in the eighth, but Ken Sanders made his 76th relief appearance and gained credit for his 28th save. [The Sporting News]
