The Phillies committed the sin of walking the opposing pitcher and, as a result, lost to the Mets, 3-2. With one out in the ninth, Joe Hoerner passed Danny Frisella. Ed Kranepool beat out a bunt and, when Hoerner threw wildly, both runners advanced an extra base. Mike Jorgensen then singled to send Frisella home with the winning run. [The Sporting News]
