Erupting for four runs in the first inning, the Giants defeated the Braves, 6-1, to snap their seven-game losing streak. Tito Fuentes set off the scoring with a homer and, after a pass to Willie Mays, Bobby Bonds also hit for the circuit. The Giants then loaded the bases and counted another run on a single by John Cumberland.

Marty Perez homered for the Braves' tally in the third. The Giants wrapped up the victory with two runs in the ninth, one scoring on a double by Bonds for his third RBI of the game. [The Sporting News]
