Beating the rain, the Mets scored a 4-2 victory over the Expos in a game stopped after five innings. The second half of the scheduled twi-night doubleheader was postponed.

Ron Hunt was hit by a pitch for the 44th time this season in the first inning and subsequently scored for the Expos on a single by Bob Bailey, but the Mets struck back with three runs in their half.
