. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Rick Miller, rookie outfielder with the Red Sox, hit his first major league homer with two men on base and drove in another run with a single to lead the attack in a 10-7 victory over the Indians. Rico Petrocelli and Joe Lahoud also homered for the Red Sox, while the Indians had round-trippers by Vada Pinson and Ray Fosse.

Pinch-hitter Mike Fiore delivered the key blow for the Red Sox in the eighth inning to break a 6-6 tie. Petrocelli walked to open the stanza. After the next two batters struck out, Carlton Fisk singled. Fiore came to the plate and doubled, driving in two runs, and scored himself on a double by Doug Griffin. [The Sporting News]
