A grand-slam homer by Brooks Robinson, his second of the season and sixth of his career, enabled Pat Dobson to gain his 18th victory as the Orioles defeated the Yankees, 6-2. The Yankees took a two-run lead in the first inning, but Frank Robinson homered for the Orioles in the second and Andy Etchebarren tied the score with a circuit clout in the seventh.

Paul Blair led off with a single in the eighth and Davey Johnson walked. After Roger Hambright relieved, Merv Rettenmund went out, but Frank Robinson singled to load the bases, setting the stage for Brooks Robinson's jackpot wallop. [The Sporting News]
