Ron Hunt, who is a native of the St. Louis area, helped the Expos hunt down the Cardinals, 4-2. Hunt scored three runs after reaching base on a single in the first inning, an error in the third and a double in the fifth.

Rusty Staub, who drove in Hunt with a single in the fifth, then accounted for the Expos' last run with a homer in the seventh. Lou Brock stole his 62nd and 63rd bases of the season for the Cardinals to bring his career total to 501. [The Sporting News]
