Joe Lahoud and Rico Petrocelli batted in two runs apiece to lead the Red Sox to a 4-3 victory over the Senators. Lahoud homered after a pass to Petrocelli in the second inning. Petrocelli drove in a run with a double in the fourth and then provided the deciding marker with a homer in the sixth. Pete Broberg, the Senators' losing pitcher, hit his first major league homer.
