Although held to four hits, the Yankees were able to defeat the Indians, 3-2. The Yankees scored on a walk to Frank Baker, a sacrifice and single by Jake Gibbs in the third inning and picked up another run without the benefit of a hit in the seventh on a pass to Roy White, a stolen base and two errors.

With the score tied in the ninth, Gibbs singled and took second on a fumble of the ball by Roy Foster. After a sacrifice by Felipe Alou and intentional pass to Roy White, Ron Blomberg singled to drive in the winning run. [The Sporting News]
