Carlos May and Pat Kelly each drove in four runs to lead the White Sox to 5-1 and 6-2 victories in the sweep of a twi-night doubleheader with the Athletics. May batted in two runs in each game, while Kelly accounted for one RBI in the opener and three in the nightcap.

Rich McKinney hit a homer and run-scoring single for the White Sox in the first game, which was marred by a ninth-inning fight between Bart Johnson of the White Sox and Mike Epstein of the Athletics. [The Sporting News]
