After failing to hold a two-run lead in the ninth inning, Jim Lonborg gained a victory when the Red Sox scored in the 10th to defeat the Tigers, 3-2. George Scott drove in the Hub club's initial pair with a single in the sixth, but the Bengals pulled even with a burst of four singles in the ninth. However, in the 10th, Cecil Cooper hit a single batting for Lonborg, Doug Griffin sacrificed and Luis Aparicio won the game with a single. [The Sporting News]
