Ken Sanders walked Angel Mangual with two out and the bases loaded in the ninth inning to hand the Athletics a 5-4 victory over the Brewers. Dave May and Johnny Briggs homered for the Brewers, while Rick Monday hit one for the A's.

Rick Monday walked in the ninth and was sacrificed to third. Sanders then issued two intentional passes to load the bases and struck out Joe Rudi, but the ace reliever lost his aim and walked Mangual. [The Sporting News]
