Vince Colbert, the only Indians' pitcher to turn in a complete-game victory since August 14, did it for a second time, beating the Tigers, 2-1, as both clubs wound up their seasons. Mickey Lolich, who was the loser of the duel with the rookie, drew his 14th defeat, but the veteran lefthander wound up as the league leader in victories (25), innings pitched (376), complete games (29) and strikeouts (308).
