The Angels finished in fourth place in the West division with a 3-2 victory over the Twins, who were relegated to fifth. A pinch-single by Syd O'Brien decided the outcome.

With the score tied in the eighth inning, 1-1, Billy Parker singled for the Angels. Tommie Reynolds hit a grounder and when Steve Braun failed to touch second on an attempted forceout of Parker, both runners were safe.
