. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Led by Ralph Garr, who rapped four hits, the Braves won the opener of a doubleheader, 5-1, but the Padres came back to take the nightcap, 3-0, behind the pitching of Bill Greif, who turned in the first complete game of his major league career.

After the Padres scored an unearned run in the first inning of the lidlifter, Felix Millan sent the Braves on the way to their victory with a two-run double in the second. The Padres' hitting in the nightcap included run-scoring doubles by Nate Colbert and Cito Gaston. [The Sporting News]
