Although the Twins were held to only four hits, a homer by Bobby Darwin and double by Rod Carew produced a 3-2 victory over the Athletics. Darwin's homer after a single by Charlie Manuel tied the score in the fifth inning. Cesar Tovar was hit by a pitched ball in eighth, moved up on an infield out and counted the deciding run on Carew's double. [The Sporting News]
