Steve Blass, who pitched seven innings, yielded only two hits and Willie Stargell came through with a pair of run-scoring singles as the Pirates defeated the Mets, 2-0. Rennie Stennett opened the game with a single and, after two infield outs, scored on Stargell's first hit.
