Playing their first home game in Texas, the Rangers made a winning debut by defeating the Angels, 7-6, before a crowd of 20,105. Frank Howard smashed a tremendous homer for the transplanted Senators in the first inning. Dave Nelson also homered for the Rangers, while Lenny Randle drove in four runs with a double and two singles. [The Sporting News]
