The Expos' hero for the second straight game, Jim Fairey drove in a run with a pinch-single in the 10th inning to beat the Cardinals, 6-5. Ken Singleton walked to open the stanza, but the next two batters flied out. However, Terry Humphrey then singled as a pinch-hitter and Fairey followed with his game-winning hit.
