Gaylord Perry doubled to spark the Indians' scoring and pitched a seven-hitter to defeat the Orioles, 2-1. Perry led off the third inning with his two-bagger and crossed the plate when Mike Cuellar threw wildly to first on a bunt by Del Unser.

After Eddie Leon sacrificed, Graig Nettles singled to score Unser with the run that proved decisive. The Orioles counted in the ninth on a double by Terry Crowley and single by Don Baylor. [The Sporting News]
