Sending 14 men to bat, the Astros erupted for 10 runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Giants, 13-7. The Giants took a 7-3 lead with four runs in the eighth, three scoring on a homer by Dave Kingman.

Cesar Cedeno, who collected five hits in six trips in the game, batted twice in the Astros' uprising in the ninth and drove in three runs with a double and single. Lee May also accounted for three runs with a homer. [The Sporting News]
