A disputed run in the seventh inning enabled the Astros to edge the Cubs, 5-4. Jerry Reuss, who was on third base, came home on a fly by Jim Wynn, but thought he had the missed plate and was returning to touch it when tagged by catcher Randy Hundley. However, umpire Frank Pulli called Reuss safe, ruling he actually had touched the plate with his hand the first time he slid across it. [The Sporting News]
