. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Welcoming the return of manager Leo Durocher, who had been ill, the Cubs defeated the Reds, 10-8, to snap their eight-game losing streak. Jim Hickman, subbing for Joe Pepltone, who was sidelined with a stomach ache, smashed a pair of three-run homers to lead the Cubs' attack. Rick Monday and Jose Cardenal also hit for the circuit in support of Fergie Jenkins, who staggered to his first victory of the year. [The Sporting News]
