. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Starting with four runs in the first inning, the Dodgers bombed their way to an 11-1 victory over the Mets, who were stopped on a seven-game winning streak. The Mets picked up their run in the first on a double by Ted Martinez and single by Rusty Staub, but they were overwhelmed thereafter.

In the Dodgers' first, Manny Mota singled and Willie Davis and Frank Robinson followed with back-to-back homers. Jim Lefebvre then doubled and scored on a double by Dick Dietz. Bill Russell homered in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
