With two out, Joe Coleman committed the unpardonable sin of walking his opposing pitcher, Bill Gogolewski, with the bases loaded in the fourth inning to force in what proved to be the Rangers' winning run in a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. Ted Ford homered for the Rangers' initial tally in the second.
