Four errors in one inning enabled the Expos to score four runs in the sixth to clinch a 7-1 victory over the Giants. Bob Bailey led off the weird frame with a single and when Juan Marichal threw wildly, trying for a forceout on a bunt by Mike Jorgensen, both runners were safe, with Bailey taking third.

Bailey held third on a fly by Ron Fairly, but Jorgensen advanced to second when Dave Kingman bobbled the throw from the outfield. Ken Singleton was passed intentionally to load the bases. Boots Day folowed with a grounder to Tito Fuentes, who kicked the ball into right field, allowing three runs to score.
