The speed of Ted Martinez, who beat out an infield hit with two away in the 14th inning, enabled Bud Harrelson to score the run that gave the Mets a 4-3 victory over the Dodgers. Harrelson singled, stole second and reached third on a wild pitch before Martinez hit a grounder deep near second and beat Jim Lefebvre's throw to first. Before the game went into overtime, Rusty Staub drove in two runs for the Mets and Frank Robinson two for the Dodgers, each with a single and homer. [The Sporting News]
