The Red Sox erupted for four runs in the 10th inning to defeat the Brewers, 5-1. Ray Culp had a 1-0 victory in sight until two out in the ninth when Darrell Porter homered for the Brewers.

In the 10th, Tommy Harper doubled and, after an intentional pass to Reggie Smith, Danny Cater singled to break the tie. Rick Miller followed with a three-run homer to put the game out of the Brewers' reach. [The Sporting News]
