Winning for the first time in a Brewers' uniform, Jim Lonborg received credit for a 4-1 victory over his former Red Sox teammates. Lonborg gave up seven hits in 7 2/3 innings before yielding the mound to Ken Sanders.

George Scott started the Brewers' scoring with a two-run homer in the first. Two other tallies followed in the sixth, one of them crossing the plate on a single by Lonborg. [The Sporting News]
