Starting in the Reds' outfield for the first time this season, Hal McRae singled and doubled for his first hits of the year and drove in four runs to help defeat the Giants, 8-5. Cesar Geronimo, who entered the lineup late in the game as a defensive replacement for McRae, sent a run home with a triple in the ninth inning and scored himself on a sacrifice fly by Bill Plummer to insure the Reds' triumph.
