A double by Syd O'Brien for his first hit in 10 times at bat this season led to the run that gave the Angels a 4-3 victory over the Athletics in 12 innings. After O'Brien led off with his two-bagger, Steve Barber sacrificed.

O'Brien held third as Art Kusnyer grounded out. The A's then passed Sandy Alomar intentionally in a move that failed when Mickey Rivers rapped a single to drive in O'Brien. [The Sporting News]
