A three-run homer by Earl Williams in the eighth inning powered the Braves to a 3-2 victory over the Giants. The Braves were held to only two hits by Steve Stone until Ralph Garr and Rico Carty singled in the eighth. After Orlando Cepeda struck out, Williams came through with his homer to enable the Braves to snap their four-game losing streak. [The Sporting News]
