. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Athletics erupted for five runs in the seventh inning, featuring a homer by Reggie Jackson with two men on base, to defeat the Angels, 6-3. Nolan Ryan held the A's to two hits until the seventh when Catfish Hunter and Joe Rudi singled and Jackson rapped his homer to break a 1-1 tie.

When Ryan issued his seventh pass in the game, walking Sal Bando, Steve Barber relieved. Two more free tickets filled the bases. After Mel Queen took over, a wild pitch, another walk and a sacrifice fly by Larry Brown added the A's final tallies. [The Sporting News]
