The Twins snapped their four-game losing streak when Danny Thompson doubled in the 12th inning and scored on a single by Rod Carew to beat the Royals, 1-0. Dick Drago, who pitched the route for the Royals, struck out 13 and yielded only four hits until the fatal frame. Jim Kaat was the Twins' winner with the aid of Wayne Granger, who retired the Royals in their half of the 12th. [The Sporting News]
