After two errors on one play by Rudy May allowed a pair of tainted tallies in the first inning, Paul Schaal homered for the Royals in the second. A passed ball led to another unearned run in the seventh and Freddie Patek added the Royals' final marker with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
