Pitching the sixth straight compete game to the credit of the Astros' staff, Dave Roberts yielded only five hits and beat the Dodgers, 5-3. Jim Wynn, who walked in the seventh inning, stole his third base of the game and scored on a single by Doug Rader to break a 3-3 tie.

A double by Jack Hiatt, sacrifice by Roberts and safe bunt by Roger Metzger added a tally in the eighth. Jerry Reuss, Larry Dierker, Tom Griffin, Ken Forsch and Don Wilson pitched complete games before Roberts also turned the trick. [The Sporting News]
