Clyde Wright was forced out of action with a reinjured ankle in the seventh inning, but before departing the Angels' lefthander allowed only four hits and smashed a homer and single in a 4-2 victory over the Royals. Leroy Stanton drove in two of the Angels' runs with a sacrifice fly and double. Wright hit his homer in the fifth and hurt himself running the bases after his single in the seventh.
