The Expos, who had lost 13 straight games on the road, snapped their traveling jinx with a 7-5 victory over the Cubs. The Expos broke a 5-5 tie after Tim Foli singled in the eighth inning.

Mike Marshall tapped to Dan McGinn, who tossed to second base too late to force Foli. Don Kessinger, trying to get Marshall at first, threw wildly and Foli raced home on the error to put the Expos ahead.
