A crowd of 32,278, Baltimore's second largest of the season, saw the Orioles beat Vida Blue and post a 5-1 victory over the Athletics. Blue gave up only four hits in five innings, but all were productive. In the second, Don Baylor singled, stole second and scored on a single by Bobby Grich. Paul Blair homered in the fourth. Blue issued three passes to load the bases in the fifth and Blair took advantage of the situation to drive in two runs with a double. [The Sporting News] |
