Yielding only four hits, Sonny Siebert outpitched Wilbur Wood as the Red Sox defeated the White Sox, 2-0. The Red Sox, who got six hits off Wood, bunched three of them for their runs in the sixth inning.

Doug Griffin led off by bunting safely. After Carlton Fisk struck out, Griffin took second on a grounder by Siebert and scored on a single by Tommy Harper. Luis Aparicio followed with a double to send Harper home with an extra run. [The Sporting News]
