At least for one time at bat, Bill Melton broke out of his slump with a three-run homer to power the White Sox to a 3-2 victory over the Brewers. Melton's homer, after he had fouled off six consecutive pitches, came in the sixth inning following a double by Dick Allen and intentional pass to Carlos May. A walk, triple by Billy Conigliaro and single by John Felske gave the Brewers their pair off Wilbur Wood in the ninth.
