Brooks Robinson drove in three runs with a homer, double and single, enabling Dave McNally to pitch the Orioles to a 5-2 victory over the Rangers. After Robinson's third RBI, the Orioles loaded the bases in the sixth inning and scored on a triple steal by Johnny Oates, Robinson and Davey Johnson.

on Baylor homered for their last run in the eighth. McNally's victory was the lefthander's second straight over the Rangers and 15th in a row counting his record against their predecessors in Washington before the franchise was moved to Texas. [The Sporting News]
