Starting for the first time since May 5, Jerry Koosman allowed only four hits in six innings and was a winner when the Mets defeated the Astros, 5-3. Although Doug Rader and Cesar Cedeno smashed homers for the Astros, Koosman was able to gain his first victory as a starter since September 10, 1971. The lefthander's previous two triumphs this season came in relief. [The Sporting News] |
